To the President of the Land Commissioners, William L. Lee, Greetings to you and your fellow workers: Being directed by you to state our claims, therefore, I hereby state my claim. I have a house lot situated here in Honolulu. The ali`i gave me this place and this was the beginning of a profound right and well-being.

On the Island of Maui are two house lots given me by the ali`i. These lots have become an understood right. At Honokohau is an enclosure which was made by nature of my occupancy as a commoner. It is a true and genuine right by right of /building?/ a land boundary wall. There is also an `Ili at Lahaina. A pauku /small section/ of land is at Kalimaohe. Three mo`o are at Kainehe. Written at Honolulu, Island of Oahu, February 2, 1848.

Sections 4 and 5 from King Kamehameha III in 1836. This is a sugar mill site, peaceful life here to the present.

Kokio, sworn, every statement above for his house lots in Lahaina one [is] accurate. I do not know about the land in Honokohau. I believe King Kamehameha III has objected to his house lot sections in Lahaina here.

Kanui, sworn, I am the konohiki of Honokohau at present and his claim in Honohau is accurate and is according to the statements above.

Section 6 was from Kahuaokalani at the time the corpse of Liholiho was brought back from Britain in 1825. Life has been peaceful to the present.
