Testimony received from Doctor Smith Oct 9th. Testimony in relation to the Land of Saletiela - taken at Lawai, island of Kauai September 27th 1854.
Luka witness, sworn, testifies that he is Konohiki of Lawai and knows the land of claimant. It is in the Ahupuaa of Lawai at a placed called "Hapaiehu."
It lies in one piece & consists of 5 large lois & house lot, bounded as follows:

.... u will observe therefore that the claim of Saltiela is not a new claim. What is requested is a rectification of an error in the claim No. 10675. Not doubting but you will give the case due consideration.
P.S. If your Commission concludes to allow Saletiela his land it will be necessary to have it surveyed. Mr. Pease, I suppose, is at Honolulu, though he makes frequent visits to Kauai.
