Kamehameha III, By the Grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, by this Royal Patent, makes known, unto all men, that he has for himself and his successors in office, this day granted and given, absolutely, in Fee Simple unto William Whitmarsh, his faithful and loyally disposed subject for the consideration of Sixty One Dollars 39/100 ($61.30), paid into the Royal Exchequer, all that certain piece of Land situated at Hokukanu Elua in the Island of Hawaii and described as follows:
Commencing at mauka North corner of George Thornton's land & East corner of this joining Preston Cummings & running
North 32° 45' West 12 1/4 Chains along P. Cummings land to pile of stones at mauka North corner of this, thence
South 66° 30 ....
