On Right of Purchase Lease under Part VII of the Land Act of 1895

By this Patent the Governor of the Territory of Hawaii, in conformity with the Laws of the United States of America and of the Territory of Hawaii, makes known to all men that he has this day granted and confirmed unto W.R. Patterson for the consideration of Nine Hundred & Thirty-seven  Dollars, $937.00 paid into the Treasury. And for the further consideration of his having complied with the terms and conditions of Part VII of the Land Act of 1895, and Section 313 et seq. of the Revised Laws of 1905, all of the land situate at Kuhiaha-Pauwela in the District of Hamakualoa, Island of Maui, bounded and described as follows:

Right of Purchase Lease No. 72
Lot No. 2, Registered Map No. 2466, Fourth Land District.
Beginning at an iron rail t the Northeast corner of this lot, the West edge of the Kaupakulua Gulch and on the North side of the Spreckles' Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Company's Ditch, the coordinates of said rail referred to Government Survey Trig. Station “Kauhikoa” being 14296.4 feet North and 4403.2 feet East, as shown on Government Survey Registered Map No. 2466, and running by true azimuths:
1. 346° 00' 1500.0 feet along the land of West Kaupakulua to the North side of New Government Road; ....

.... ess of law or otherwise, conveyed, mortgaged, lease, or otherwise transferred to or acquired or held by or for the benefit of any alien or corporation; or, before or after the issuance of a homestead lease or before the issuance of a patent, to or by or for the benefit of any other person; or, after the issuance of a patent, to or by or for the benefit of any person who owns, holds, or controls, directly or indirectly, other land or the use thereof the combined area of which and the land in question exceeds eighty acres: Provided, That these prohibitions shall not apply to transfers or acquisitions by inheritance or between tenants in common. Any land in respect of which any of the foregoing provisions shall be violated shall forthwith be forfeited and resume the status of public land and may be recovered by the Territory or its successors in an action of ejectment or other appropriate proceedings."

In Witness Whereof, The Governor of the Territory of Hawaii, has hereto set his hand, and caused the Great Seal of the Territory to be hereunto affixed, this 7th day of December, A.D. 1914.
