Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I have some land claims in an 'ili in the ahupua'a of Halawa, Island of Molokai. Kaio is one 'ili and Waioli is another. Opele is the name of the 'ili on the makai side of Kaio, it is for Naonealaa. Puaalaulau, for Timoteo, is the name of the 'ili on the mauka side.
My claims are together in one place. Two lo'i po'alima for Timoteo are in Kaio -- this is land for taro, and also kula, and Waioli is kula land. However, Timoteo has no claim in Waioli.
I have been on this land from the time of Paia. Paia gave it to Hauli, and Hauli gave it /to me/. He is dead, and Timoteo is the present konohiki. I have cultivated this land until the present. Formerly I went to the po'alima labor days and paid taxes for the land, but at this time am excused because of /having more than three/ children. The size of my land is 154 fathoms in length by 55 fathoms in width.

Inui, sworn, I know his apana of land in the 'Ili of Waioli, Halawa. It is one apana of taro and kula land.
It is bounded as follows:
Mauka, land of Konohiki
Koolau, the stream
Makai, land of Kameheu
Kona, a pali.
His land was from Hauli, before the death of Kinau in 1838 and he has had quiet and undisputed possession until this time. This is the first time I have heard of the opposition of the Konohiki to the kula land; I do not know the reason -- perhaps because it was not cultivated?
Kekahuna, sworn, It is true that T. Keaweiwi has.disputed the kula land.
