ROYAL PATENT,
Upon Confirmation by the Land Commission.

WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners to quiet Land Titles have by their decision awarded unto Hazaleleponi Kalama, Land Commission Award 4452 apana 14, an estate of Freehold less than Allodial, in and to the land hereafter described, and whereas proper application having been made to the Minister of the Interior by Honorable W.C. Parke, administrator of the Estate of Charles Kanaina for a Royal patent for the within described land, a certificate defining the boundaries of the same having been filed and the Government commutation thereon relinquished by an order of the Privy Council dated June 4, 1855.

THEREFORE, Lunalilo  Kalakaua, by the Grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, by this Royal Patent, makes known to all men, that h ....

.... 165 5/10 acres, of this area there remains to the Estate of Kanaina 924 1/2 acres, comprising 10 acres of Rice land, the fish pond of 124 1/2 acres and 790 acres of grazing and mountain land.

Containing Eleven hundred sixty tive 5/10 –    Acres, more or less, excepting and reserving to the Hawaiian Government all mineral or metallic mines of every description.

To Have and to Hold the above granted Land in Fee Simple, unto the said Hazaleleponi Kalama, Heirs and Assigns forever, subject to taxes to be from time to time imposed by the Legislative Council, equally upon all Landed Property held in Fee Simple.

In Witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand, and caused the Great Seal of the Hawaiian Islands to be affixed, this twentieth day of October, 1880.
