I, Ipupala, on this day convey absolutely my land and the house site on which the house stands, to my grandchild, Kaehu and from this day hence all these rights shall be his and I shall live under him. All my rights are conveyed to him in the occupancy thereof. However, he shall not oppose me while I live and he shall pay the tax on the land every year as I did formerly.
In order to fulfill this agreement I set my name in true witness thereof.

1. I hereby tell you of my claim at Honolulu on the Island of Oahu, from my kupunas. It is at Lower Kaalaa in Honolulu, the boundaries being as follows: North, a bank of taro patch belonging to Hapee; on the east, the road going to Nuuanu; on the south, this same road and the house lot of Malihini; on the west some taro patches for Malihini. Kilauea's lot, toward the mountain and
upper Kaaloa is on the Waikiki side.
Kaehu is living there and his grandfather had given him this interest. The grandfather had lived there in the year 1832. There is a house but no fence because that is a taro land. This was given to his grandchild in the year 1845.
Ipupala, sworn by the Word of God and stated, "I am the grandfather of Kaehu, the father of his mother. The source of my interest in this land here was a woman. Now, I have given my interest to my grandchild, Kaehu, without any cost because he is a child of my daughter. However, my wife and I are living there and he will be caring for us. The end of his responsibility will come upon our death. See page 461
