To the Honorable Rufus A. Lyman, Commissioner of Boundaries for the Third Judicial Circuit,
To wit, the Island of Hawaii
The petition of Reverend Father Clement, for my lord Maigret, Bishop of Arathia respectfully represents unto your Honour the Commissioner as follows:
That the aforesaid, my lord, Maigret, is possessed of a land situated in Puna, in the Island of Hawaii, called the Ahupuaa of Waiakahiula. That the aforesaid land has not been surveyed, and that the boundaries of the same are as yet undefined. That the following is the list of the lands adjoining the said land of "Waiakahiula" and the owners of the same, as far as the same, are known to your petitioner, to wit:

"Kapoho & Kula", King W. Lunalilo
"Kaimu", Crown
"Kaohe", Government
That all and singular the premises are within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Commissioner of Boundaries. Therefore your petitioner respectfully prays that the boundaries of the said land of "Waiakahiula" may be decided and certified too, by your Honour, the Commissioner, and that a certificate defining the said boundaries may be issued to your petitioner, and that to this end, a day, hour and place may be appointed for the hearing of this petition, and the proofs there and then to be adduced, and that due notice according to law, may be made to all persons interested in the sai matter, to appear, and show cause, if any, they have, why the said petition should not be granted.

The undersigned respectfully represents that the Catholic Mission is owning several lands in this Island, as Waikahiula Ahupuaa in Puna, Kanahonua in Hamakua, Puaa in Kona Akau, and some others in Kona Hema whose names I now forget.
Your petitioner respectfully asks that the boundaries of said lands, as above mentioned may be ascertained, decided and certified to by Your Honor, the Commissioner

On this, the 28th day of February, A.D. 1876, the Commission of Land Boundaries for the Island of Hawaii, 3d Judicial Circuit, met at the Court House at Hilo, Hawaii, on the application of Rev. C. Pouzot, for the settlement of the boundaries of the Ahupuaa of Waiakahiula, situated in the District of Puna, Island of Hawaii, 3d Judicial Circuit.
Notice of time and place of hearing personally served on applicant and L. Kaina, Agent for Hawaiian Government &c. &c.

It is therefore adjudged, and I do hereby decide and Certify that the Boundaries of the said land are, and hereafter shall be as hereinbefore set forth.
Given under my hand at Hilo, Island of Hawaii, the thirty-first day of July, A.D. one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.
