Honolulu, July 7, 1873
R.A. Lyman, Esquire, Hilo
Dear Sir
Mr. F.H. Harris is authorized by the commissioners of Crown lands to make application to you as commissioner of Boundaries to have the boundaries of all Crown lands on the Island of Hawaii defined. He has a list of the lands with him.

I have also authorized Mr. F.H. Harris to make application to you for the settlement of boundaries of all lands belonging to Estate of His late Majesty and Her Excellency, R. Keelikolani.

I expect to be in Kona by the trip of the "Kilauea" which leaves here on the 28th instant. Can't you make it convenient to come round as the steamer goes to Hilo on that trip.

I wish also to apply for the settlement of the boundaries of Honohina.
I remain, Yours respectfully
Jno. O. Dominis

.... e North side. I have only heard. Okoe bounds it on the South side at a place called Mokunaia; thence mauka to Ahupuna, where the grass grows; thence to Kaluakiki, an ahu at the Government road; the aa is on Honomalino; the boundary on the makai side I can point out this place; thence to Kaluakaula, a cave in the woods; thence to Pohokinikini; thence along Kapua to Mawae; thence to Koolau; thence along Kaulanamauna to Kumualii to a place pointed out to the Commissioner when we were on the mountain last year; ohia growing in the sand. Kalihi bounds it on the South side [page 192] at a pali called Kalipo, a small point at shore; thence mauka to Waiho; thence to Paeloa, a cultivating patch above the government road; thence to Laehakau, where the boundary turns North cutting off Kalihi and running to Nahalemahu; thence to Kapaleu, cutting off Omakaa, Milolii, Hoopuloa; thence cutting off Anapuka, Papa 2d and Papa 1st to Puainako. I have only heard of this boundary. I have never been there.

Thence to Ahinui, cutting off Alika and Kipahoehoe; thence to Pueleele along Kapuna; thence to the makai side of Pokakuloa on Alanui o Umi; there cut off by Keauhou. I have I have[ sic] not been told where Keauhou and Honomalino join. I have not been shown this boundary. They did not tell me that Keauhou cut Honomalino off at Umi's road; they said the pahoehoe belonged to Keauhou and the woods to makai lands. I made a mistake in saying that the land runs to Pohakuloa; from what I have heard Pahoehoe belongs to Keauhou and the woods to Honomalino. I never heard that Kahuku reached to Honomalino until last year.
Cross-examined.

Case continued till further notice.
R.A. Lyman, Commissioner of Boundaries, 3d Judicial Circuit
