Application

Honolulu, August, August 2nd, 1873

To: Lawrence McCully, Esquire, Commissioner of Boundaries for the Island of Oahu, Hawaiian Islands

The Undersigned respectfully represents that he is the owner of the following named lands, to wit:

1. The Ahupuaa of Hakipuu situate in the District of Koolaupoko, Island of Oahu, aforesaid; that the same was awarded to the late Queen Dowager Hazeleleponi Kalama, deceased by Land Commission Award No. 4452, Apana 14 on the 13th day of April, A.D. 1855,and from whom the undersigned applicant inherited the same.
2. The Ili Aina of Paakea situated in Waimalu, in the District of Ewa, Island of Oahu, aforesaid;
3. The Ili Aina of Muliwai, situated in Manana, District of Ewa, aforesaid;
4. The Ili Aina of Kaieie situated in Kalihi, District of Kona, Island of Oahu, aforesaid.

All of the above named Ilis being now held and claimed under Royal Patent No. 4497, Land Commission Award No. 8559 granted to the undersigned applicant by name on the 11th day of June 1861; that the same have not been awarded by the Land Commission, patented or conveyed by deed from the King by boundaries described in such award, Patent or deed, and therefore he respectfully requests that the boundaries of said lands may be settled by Your Honorable Commission, and to that end makes this application to hear the same decided and certified by You, as Commissioner of Boundaries as aforesaid;

Pursuant to the requirements of the Statutes, the undersigned applicant represents that the following are the names of the adjoining lands and the names of the owners of the same, so far as known to the undersigned applicant, to wit:

Thence along sea shore to the South end of big fish pond wall, which point bears North 3° 05' East distant 3820 2660 feet from last mentioned point;
The total Area of the Ahupuaa is 1165 5/10 acres, of this Area there remains to the Estate of Kanaina 924 ½ acres, comprising 10 acres of rice land, the Fish Pond of 124 ½ acres and 790 acres of grazing and Mountain Land.

Thence along the big fish pond wall and sea shore to Initial point, bearing North 84° 45' East distant 3820 feet.
