KAMEHAMEHA III, By the Grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, by this his Royal Patent, makes known, unto all men, that he has for himself and his successors in office, this day granted and given, absolutely, in Fee Simple unto Harvey R. Hitchcock, his faithful and loyally disposed subject for the consideration of Four Hundred and Thirty nine Dollars $439, paid into the Royal Exchequer, all that certain piece of Land situated at Kaluaaha, in the Island of Molokai, and described as follows:
Commencing at the water side 1,553 links North 68° East from Mr. Hitchcock's dooryard gathe [gate], by side of Fishpond, and running
South 60° West 6,990 links to stone wall, to station North 3, 453 links North 15° 30' West from stone wall, crossing makai at right angles. This gives from Station 1 to 3 a Base line of 6990 links.
