Kamehameha III, By the Grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, by this his Royal Patent, makes known, unto all men, that he has for himself and his successors in office, this day granted and given, absolutely, in Fee Simple unto William B. Barnes, his faithful and loyally disposed subject for the consideration of One Hundred and Twenty-five Dollars  ($125.00) paid into the Royal Exchequer, all that certain piece of Land situated at Wainaku, Hilo in the Island of Hawaii and described as follows:

Commencing on the top of the pali on the main Road above the Stream of Wainaku, thence following up the Stream along the edge of the Pali by the following courses X distances, viz.
North 51° West 1.55 chains
North 28° West 1.70 chains
South 83° West 3.30 chains
North 16° West 3.50 chains
South 70° West 3.10 chains
