Kalakaua, By the Grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, By this, His Royal Patent, makes known, unto all men, that he has for himself, his heirs and successors, this day granted and given unto Kalawa, wahine, for the consideration of Sixty Dollars, paid into the Royal Exchequer, all that piece of Land situate at Kaluaopalena Kalihi Kona, in the Island of Oahu and described as follows:

Lot No. 12 on Government Map of Kaluaopalena, Kalihi
Beginning at a point which is North 55° 30' East magnetic of 10° declination 420 feet from the Rock Kaluaopalena as marked on the Government Survey Map. From said rock the summit of Diamond Head bears by the Meridian herein used, 313° 13' and running on magnetic course of 10° East declination as follows:
1. South 63° 30' East 158 feet along the Kaloahalau Award
2. North 27° 30' East 110 feet along the Ohia Award, Apana 3
3. North 67° 00' West 170 feet along the Pawaa Award
4. South 20° 00' West 100 feet along the Pawaa Award to initial point.

Containing –  40/100  Acres, more or less; excepting and reserving to the Hawaiian Government, all mineral or metallic mines of every description.

To have and to hold the above granted Land in Fee Simple, unto the said Kalawa, wahine, her Heirs and Assigns forever.

Witness Ourself, at Honolulu, this sixteenth day of April, 1881, in the Eighth year of Our Reign.
