I, Kalua, hereby state my claim for land and house lot in Waipio. The claim at Muliwai is as follows: It was held from the time of Kalaiopuu, when my kupunakane was the house dweller, and he had the land until the time of Kamehameha II. He died during the reign of Kamehameha II, Liholiho, and the land was left with my makuakane and also the house lot.

In this reign of Kamehameha III it has passed to the haole, but this is an old right, from my kupunakane ....
