To the Land Commissioners, greetings to you all: I, Hanaimoa, a Hawaiian subject living on the island of Kauai in the land of Mahaana, hereby state my claim for my lo`is and kula. The kula is 7 chains long by 3 chains 8 fathoms wide. There is a house site in the kula which is 2 chains 6 fathoms long by 1 chain 6 fathoms. The length is two and a half times the width. Some of my lo`is adjoin the kula with the house lot in it. Also, there is an orange tree on the boundary of my lo`is. Furthermore, there are two kukui trees suitable for canoe making growing at the muliwai of Hanalei, at Kaunopua.

Furthermore, there are two other lo`i in the same parcel. Because the land is stony they are not attached to the lo`is mentioned above adjoining the kula. Lo`i 1 is 27 fathoms on one side, 22 on another and the width is 9. Lo`i 2 is 16 long on one side, ....

Hanaimoa's land from Mokuhiwa, he received it as an overseer after 1837. Naiui objected because of his status as a Konohiki, later after the death of Hanaimoa in 1848, he took all of these lands leaving his (Hanaimoa) children without land.

Sections 1, 2, 3 were taken from Hanaimoa.
