To Kamehameha III, Greetings: I hereby tell you of my place where I live, of my true and correct interest, of my occupation of this land, of the length of time I have occupied it, and the ones from whom I got it.
Halawa is the Ahupua`a, Kaihe is the konohiki, Waikolu is my ili which was given me by Naihe. I have occupied this ili for 15 years with no complications. Pualoalo is the ili from Kamehameha I and gave it to Kaleoiki, whom I have been under, on this ....

2. Ili land at Waikulu:
Mauka by idle land for the konohiki, Kaihe
the same is for Kohalawahao, also Makai
Hamakua by Hamakao ahupuaa.
There are several patches and a potato pasture; there is no house.
