To the Honorable Land Commissioners, Greetings: I, the one whose name is below, hereby state to you that I have a claim for land at Kaniakaula, Paalaa, with sixteen lo'i and a kula also. The lo'is and the kula are together, and are bounded as follows: on the north is Kaopae, on the east is Kaula's land, on the south is a stream, on the west is Kauai. Second: at Koheo, Kawailoa kai are four lo'i ....

His land was from Laanui in the time of Kinau, and is undisputed, that is Apana 2. Apana 1 was from Kapuni in 1841.
Kekauwa denies his right in Apana 1 - he has no rights there; it is left with the Konohiki.
