Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I have a claim in the Ahupua`a of Halawa, Island of Molokai. The name of this `ili is Kaakaualani. The name of the mauka `ili is Kunapa, for Kulou, and the name of the makai `ili is Manua, for Kamuku I, and a stream is on one side, being the north, and a pali is above. Paia, a long ago konohiki, gave this land to my kupunas, and it has been held until the present when I have it. I have occupied and cultivated this land until now. It is 143 fathoms long by 47 fathoms wide. I request you, the Commissioners to Quiet Land Titles, that if my claim is found valid it be awarded to me. It is finished. The witness is Kualawa.
