Hear ye, Honorable Mr. Richards, Respectful greetings: I, Napoeha, the konohiki under the Mo`i, no longer have the title of konohiki.

Kekukahiko has taken my land of Kamookahi, that is what I am telling your honor. I was dispossessed on the 17th day of April and I am going hungry because all my taro was pulled up. What wrong have I done to be dispossessed?

Napahi, sworn by the Word of God and stated, "I had seen Kukuhe living there at the time of Kaomi. Kukuhe had one house and Kekoa had a house. Kekoa is the wife of Haia. Kukuhe was a guardian for Haia and he had truly given that place for Kukuhe. I have seen the granting of the land [but] I have not known when he had become the heir of Haia. Haia lived peacefully under Kukuhe after he had given that property to him. I had gone there to bring him some firewood and I had heard the bequest. Kahinu also had heard this bequest. Kekoa had objected to Napoeha. Napoeha had not lived there, since Kukuhe's death to this day. The boundaries are the same as have just been related here by Mahi."
