Greetings to the Land Commissioners, sitting on the island of Oahu: I hereby explain my claim of occupancy at Waipa, island of Kauai. It is 107 chains on the south side adjoining the seashore, 107 chains on the north side along the lo`is, 55 fathoms wide on the east, and 55 fathoms wide on the west side, along the muliwai. The total is 324 chains. These lo`is and the kula were given by Kaehoa.

Land to Puaiki from Kuku, Kuku had received it 1835, or 1836, perhaps. Puaiki is presently living under Kuku since 1845.

Two lois, Puaiki received in 1845, and the remaining three lois were received in 1849, no
objections.

Koukou, sworn, he has seen Puaiki's land just as Koukou (Makanui) has related here.
