Kanakahi, sworn says, I wrote Papaeka's claim to present before the Land Commission in February 1848. I worte it because Papaeka cannot write. I forwarded that claim with others that I wrote by a vessel then at Moloaa. Makulu & Luahine & Kamokuini say, we saw Kanakahi write Papaeka's claim in his house at Moloaa in the month of February 1848.
A. Kane, sworn says, I know the claim of Papaeka in Papaa. It is in 3 lots.
No. 1 is 4 lois & some kula adjoining in Kaala.
No. 2 is kula Loulu in Halehaka.
No. 3 is House lot embraci ....

.... se sections from Hoiku when Kaikioewa was alive before 1839. He lived peacefully on these sections until the take over of the land by the government in 1849. Kuheleloa, the Konohiki took it for no reason and because of no fault of his, it had not been used as a poalima before, nor as a koele and he has it now, and it is worked on poalima days. There have been two plantings in the lois and in section 1. He has three lois left. That is the reason for being opposed and as for the two other sections no one has objected.
Section 1 is contested.
Kauakahi, sworn, all the above statements are true. I have known in the same way.
