Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I hereby tell you of my land claims: two patches, at Kaluaouou, between Kalihi, Island of Oahu, adjoining the land of Waolani. The basis of my perpetual right to those patches is as follows: one patch from Kaniku, one was a little border, or edge of a patch from my Makua; the two patches are situated in one place.

Here is my claim for a gullied land at Koloalu, adjoining the land of Kanaina, Island of Oahu. Those are my two claims.
Farewell and may God protect you.

.... 39;s land
Honolulu, Waolani's land
Makai, Poalima patch
Ewa, Moeloa's land.

Land from Kaniku in 1847, I have known this patch from the time of Kamehameha I to the time it was given to Kanaina. He had worked on it till he went to Hawaii in 1848. It was then put in Kamalanai's care unde Kanaina. Kanaina did not work with the chain gang, becaues he was a schoolmaster. I have seen his father's patch. It was a separate patch and the second of the patches. The patch Kaniku had given is being opposed by Moeino without reason.
