To the Land Commissioners of the Hawaiian Islands, Greetings: I hereby state my claim for my house lot in Honolulu. It was established in the time of Liholiho, until the present. This is the lot for which Kaluahinenui has petitioned. There are a great many of us with rights in that house lot. The boundaries of my two houses are adjoined on the north by the Government Road, on the east by Kaluahinenui's, on the south by Kawahakui's, on the west by Kelamaka's /Gravier?/

The claimant appeared, and said she has no true title in the lot claimed; that it belonged to Kaluahinenui, and she lived under her (See claim 236, Kaluahinenui).

.... rd that Alapai had given Poe land there. I think he had given him [her] only the house he [she] had built because upon the death of Alapai, Kaluahinenui had become his heir. No bequest had been made for his [her?] own guardians and Alapai's land had been from Kamakaokekoa and folks. All of the people who had lived there lived under Alapai. When the wooden fence had collapsed, Kaluahinenui built a mud enclosure and this was done twice. The government road had come through Kaluahinenui's property separating it into two sections, mauka and makai. Later in 1849 Kamika asked Poe for a road. Poe agreed for a sum of $40.00; $20.00 for the house and $20 for the lot and a part of it was acquired by Kaluahinenui, owner of the property.

Hikiau, sworn, I have seen this place. We both /Kaiwi/ have known in the same way.
