I, Miriam Kekauluohi, do hereby lease a certain parcel of land at Lahaina, Maui, to Lorrin Andrew, a citizen of the United States. The boundaries of this land are:

Beginning at the corner of Kalaikini's lot, running northeast along the road going up to Lahainaluna, 5 6/100 chains to the lot of M. Kekauluohi, being the east side, thence
Northwest, 6 7/10 chains, being the north side, thence
Southwest, 1 38/100 chains to Pikanele's lot, thence
South, 3 10/100 chains to Kahookano's lot, bein ....

C. Kanaina, sworn by the Bible and he said, "I have seen Kekauluohi in Honolulu here in the year 1844 when he was saying to Kauka (Judd) to return Andrew's delinquent yearly payment for his house to him and he may live on his lot and house as long as the years which are allowed him, "because I know that he is a poor man," (said Kekauluohi).
