Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I, Umiumi, hereby petition you for my farm and my houselot. I state to you that I have occupied them for a long time, from the time of the death of Kaahumanu, until today. I am a man who went on the work days, above Paunau. The witnesses are: Keaweluaole, Kamanawa, Kahinu, Kaneoalii. Here are the dimensions of the mo`o and the houselot.

Keaweluaole, sworn, I know the lands of the claimant. They are in Paunau Lahaina. It is a house lot, one dry loi, 4 moos in another piece, and a pauku of kalo.

The claimant received the house lot and dry loi from Kamanawa in the days of Kaahumanu I & held these up to 1846 when Maluo took these away, but the Governor fixed Maluo and returned the land. The Governor has done thus with Maluo twice. He never has them but the wife of Maluo still disputes the ....

This land section was from Keaweluaole in 1837. No thought of raising an objection by Keaweluaole. Section 3 was from Maluo in 1842, he took this section in addition to the dry patch in 1846.

Kamanoha and Maluo raised objection for sections 1, 2, and 3 before Kaenaena, the tax assessors, James Y. Kanehoa and A. Moku.
