No. 2609, Poepoe, Waikapu, Maui, December 27, 1847
N.R. 3v6

Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I hereby state my claim for land. This land was dispossessed; it is a salt land, at Kealia. My right was from going to the po`alima. I have no /other/ land, this is my only place.

In this month of November in this same year, Umi took my claim without my being at fault. Umi is a Luna for Haa. It was he who took my claim. I petition you to consider this. I also have a house lot which is makai at Maalaea. I have two houses in this lot. This lot is situated adjacent to the east side of the lot of Makole.
