To the Land Commissioners of the Hawaiian Islands, Greetings: I hereby state my claim for some lo`is in the land called Palama, in Waikapu, Island of Maui. there is a place there with 13 lo`i, bounded on the north by Kapuhau, on the east by Loaloa, on the south by a stream, on the west by Ohia. I have had the right to these lo`i from ancient times. They were received from Kaina, and on his death, my makuakane, Kaiae, received them again from Kaili, the keiki of Kaina. When Kaiae died, it was given to me, and I have held them in peace, with no opposition. I live there and care for these lo`is.
