Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I, Haole, on the Island of Molokai, in the Ahlupua`a of Pohakupili, have an `ili in this Ahupua`a, named Maniania. It is 8 chians long and 6 fathoms, and is only 4 fathoms wide. The adjoining land on the mauka side is Palailaiha, on one side is a ridge, and Puaoina is an `ili on the makai side, and a stream is on the other side. This `ili lies very narrow and crooked.

This land has a kula far makai which goes far into the sea, and the sea is one boundary of it, also an `ili, Moakea is on one side and Kaluanui is on another side of this land.

Its length is 15 chains by 9 chains in width - it is rectangular, and there is also a mountain area.

The ali`is from the time this land became my kupunas', until it became mine, have been Hueu, Hoapili, and Kamehameha III. Those a ....
