I, the one whose name is below, hereby state to you, the Commissioners to quiet land titles, that I have an 'ili in the Ahupua'a of Keawanui, Island of Molokai; Kaikupa, a taro lo'i, and its kula, Piliamoo.

The length of the lo'i is 35 and its width is 17. It is bounded by Paaao Kumu and a shore /or fishery/ area named Mikimiki. Also, there are some kula lands adjoining my kula land, those of Pupuka and of Kekoowai.

The length is 447 and the width is 145. My right to this land was received from Puakalialia. A respectful farewell to you all.

.... he cultivation of that apana of land passed to Kanewahine. Kanewahine died and the cultivation of it passed to Kahekau - this was the time of Kameha-meha I. Kahekau was dispossessed and it passed to Kamaalewa - -this was the time of Kamehameha I - and Kuaana, the hoahanau of Papa returned and arrived at Keawanui. He /Kamalewa/ slept with Kuihewa, a woman, and Kamaalewa was dispossessed and this land passed to Nahau to cultivate - this was still the time of Kameha-meha I. I returned to Hawaii and know nothing until this time. I do not know of Konohiki /tenures in this interim/.

Nawahie, sworn, In the time of Kamehameha I, Puakaliali was the luna of the land, and he had Kaikupa - that is my knowledge of it.

Kekoowai, sworn, Kanakahi's land is in Kaikupa ili of Keawanui and was from Puakaliali at the time of Kamehameha I. No one has objected to Kanakahi.
