Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I hereby petition for my land claim from the makuas, from the time of Kamehameha First. They were on the land until the reign of Kamehameha III, when they died and bequeathed to me, their keiki, their lo`is. There are 18 lo`i at Kapili, and 17 lo`i at Naunaunauele. Also there are three mo`o waihae* and two loaloa.*

Kahanaumaikai, sworn, I know the lands of Kaukau. They are mostly in Honokowai, and are as follows:
No. 1 is a house lot and kula within Ahupuaa of Mahinahina 1.
No. 2 is a kula land in the Ili of Kapili in Honokowai.
No. 3 is a potato ground in "Honokowai."
No. 4 is two lois in the ili of "Naunaunawele."
No. 5 is 13 lois in the ili of "Naunaunawele."
No. 6 is one loi in the ili of "Puulena."
No. 7 is one loi in the ili of "Kapili."
No. 8 is one loi in the ili of "Kapili."
No. 9 is 7 lois in the ili of "Kapili."
No. 10 is 6 lois in the ili of "Kapili."
No. 11 is 2 lois in the ili of "Kapili."
No. 12 is 2 lois in the ili of "Kapili. ....
