Greetings to the Land Commissioners of the Hawaiian Islands: I hereby petition for my land claim, an `Ili named Kanawao. I also have a house lot.

Maikai, sworn, I know the lands of the claimant. They are in Honokowai. There are three pieces in the ili of Kanenau. One is sold however,
No. 1 is a kalo land.
No. 2 is a kula land.
The claimant received these lands from Governor J.A. Adams in the year 1839. His title has never been dispute. I ought to say, however, that one piece of the kula was claimed by the Government and sold to Kekuanaoa and Keoni does not claim it at this time. It ....

Mauka, Kahakuloa, Makai by konohiki land
Lahaina by Wm. Shaw's land, konohiki's land.
Work on some sections of this land had been done by Wm. L. Lee in 1849 when John White had gone to the mainland. This section would have been completed at the same time had not it been for his wife's negligence.
Land from J.A. Kuakini in 1842, no disputes to the present day.
Pupuka, sworn, I have known in the same way about Keoni's claim, no objections.
Kaihe, sworn, I had definitely seen J.A. Kuakini give him this land by document and I had seen him write his name on the deed. Every statement above is true, no objections.
