Greetings to the Land Commissioners in Honolulu. I, Kawahinelelole, a subject on the island of Kauai, under Daniela Oleloa, have a land claim which is 4 chains long by 1 4/11 chains wide. There are three ponds /lo`i/. The kula claim is 8 chains long by 1 chain wide. The house claim is 1 chain in length and the same on all four sides.

Land from Konohiki at the time of Kaumualii. He [She] (Kawahineleiole) had it without problems until P. Kanoa's man had taken a loi named Maikai. Kawahineleiole died in 1849, his [her] grandson Kepuluna received the land and although he is a small child, he does the work on the land.
