This is a claim for land in Waikapu, Maui.

Z. Kaauwai, sworn, I know the land of the Claimant in Waikapu. It is the ili of Luapuaa. It is in three pieces. One the lowland. One a kula land in the Valley, and the third a kula wauke.

The Claimant received this from Hoapili wahine in 1836 and I never heard his title disputed to this day. Hoapili Wahine Saw Mr. Copp's trouble in Lahaina, and gave him this land. He used to make clothes for Lot his Grandson. Joseph Gould now lives on this land, as Mr. Copp has rented it to him. Nalei has put ....

Charles: Where is a good land in Waikapu here?
Humphreys: Palama is a good land.
Charles: The land of a foreigner adjoins the Palama, is it not?
Humphreys: It adjoins Atoni's land.
Charles: It is not separated by Wahapaa?
Humphreys: It turns until Kaluapuaa is reached. Go home and come back again.
He did go back home and talked with Mrs. Hoapili. When he returned, Kaluapuaa was then conveyed to him.
