To the Honorable Board of Land Commissioners, &c.

Gentlemen: I submit to your inspection & award my claim to two house lots in Honolulu purchase by me from Robert Boyd and the evidence of my title to the same, consisting of sundry deeds I herewith enclosed.

No. 1. Know all men by these presents that I, Robert Boyd of Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaiian Islands, for and in consideration of 2400 dollars to me in hand paid by Edward Dennis of Honolulu, Island Oahu, Hawaii Islands aforesaid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have bargained, granted, sold & conveyed, and by these presents do bargain, grant, sell and convey to the said Dennis, his heirs, executors, administrators & assigns forever all that lot or parcel of land situated in the village of Honolulu, on the street upon which stands Canton Hotel and north of the street, leading from the sea side to Nuuanu Valley (generally known as "fid" Street), and to me, conveyed by two several instruments, the one from Namauu dated 12 March 1846, the other from M. Kekuanaoa, dated 11 February 1847, which several instruments, the said lot or parcel of land is more fully described. The former of which has been recorded in the Hawaiian Registry Office (Liber 2, miscellaneous Conveyances pages 8 & 9) the letter of which is hereto annexed.

To have and to hold the said described lot or parcel of land, together with all and singular, the building improvements, hereditements & appurtenances as thereon or in any wise appertaining thereto, unto the said Edward Dennis, to him, his heirs, and assigns forever, to have & to hold and enjoy the same, warranting and defending the same unto the said Dennis, his heirs, executors administrators and assigns, against the lawful claims of all persons, claiming by through or under me.

In testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and affixed my seal this 11th day of February 1847 at Honolulu

Know all men by these presents that I, Robert Boyd of Honolulu, Oahu, for and in consideration of one thousand dollars, to me this day paid in hand by Edward Dennis, also of Honolulu, an Hawaiian subject, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, do grant, bargain, sell and by these presents convey unto him, the said Edward Dennis, and to his executors, administrators and assigns forever all that certain lot of land situate in Honolulu, aforesaid, and described as follows: Beginning at the corner of said lot toward the sea, and on the windward side of the road to Nuuanu, where the land joins the premises of James Vowles, and running along said street in a direction N.E. 44 feet to the premises of Mr. Harbottle, thence turning and running southeast.85 ft. to land leased by A. Jenkins; thence turning and running to southwest 44 ft., to the premises of H. Zupplien and James Vowles; thence turning and running along last mentioned premises Northwesterly 85 ft to the place of beginning. Which lot of land was conveyed to me in fee simple on the 20th day of October last, by A. Paki, for a valuable consideration, in his deed expressed, the original of which deed is for greater certainty hereunto prefixed.

To have and to hold the above conveyed premises and all the tenements and hereditaments situate thereon, in fee simple with this my covenant of warranty and lawful seizen, unto the said Edward Dennis, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns forever.

In witness where I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 24th day of December, One thousand eight hundred & forty-five.

A. Paki appeared and stated that he is well acquainted with the claim of Dennis for the lot in Nuuanu Street. Paki was over the owner of that lot, and sold it to Robert Boyd. There is no opposition to Dennis' claim.
