.... Did R.G. Davis and Birdick's store get into Pale's lot? No, that was a new place. The old road was in the back of the house which was occupied by Burdickand when the new road was broken, the Brewers merged their lot. Kino Pai, who allied B. Pitman and son to live there.

N.T. 141v10
No. 6201, John G. Lewis, 2 April 1852, Vs. R.G. Davis

Honokaupu, sworn I had first known about these places just after the battle of Kauai. The place whereon Hana's house is standing is her place, back of it is their father's place and mauka of her place is Polly's place. Hana had a dispute with Kino, her uncle who is the brother of her mother, so Kino and his wife, Napukana went to live on the place of Kaiahihiu, his (Kino) sister. He built his house just outside of Pale's fence and when Fort Street was being constructed, it went through their houses and destroyed them. The need for a street prompted Kinau to give the place whereon Robata's store now stands and Napukana had built the house where the cooper is now, but it was Hana who had rented the house to B. Pitman and Kino lived under Polly. These places were not within the enclosure Polly had built. She was separated from the Kinos, nevertheless they were under Polly, his foster daughter.

Upon the death of Pale, the administrators were J. Ii and Hana Homa and a distribution was made to each and every child. The present Upai property had been included previously in Polly's lot because she had given Upai's place for the dire need of a new street. The house is for Upai, the ground is for Polly and before the death of Kaahumanu I, Kino built a new fence from Polly's place and surrounding their place, then back into Polly's place.

T.C.B. Rooke, sworn, I have been one of the builders of the new street and I had seen the Holmes's lot before the construction of the street.
