Makaulia, sworn, I know the lands of claimant. They are all in "Polanui." They consist of 2 pieces, one is a kula containing his house. The other is a kalo land.

The claimant obtained these lands from me, I being a luna of "Polanui" under Kanaina. This was before 1830 and he has possessed them ever since in peace.

The kula land is bounded:
Mauka by the land of Kapue
Olowalu by the land of Malaekanaina

Hele, sworn, says, he knows the land now in dispute. Hooilileolani gave it to Makuahine. Makaulia gave it to Koalakai about 1834, and he cultivated and held it until the time of surveying claims. Previous to that it was cultivated by Koalakai, and the food then growing on it was his.
