Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I hereby state my house lot claim. It is makai, at Auhaukeae 1, an ahupua`a in Kona, Hawaii. It was given me absolutely by Ulualoha and Kaikainalii at the time I became a teacher for the children, in 1838.

There are some other places of this lot which I made again, on the west and on the northeast. I bought a man`s house and his lot for $4.50 in 1846. I asked Kamanawa on the east side for that place and it was given to me and this was combined into one lot with a circumference of 196 3/6 fathoms; however, an edge of Hianaloli /ahupua`a/ enters into this lot. Furthermore, there is a house lot in the ahupua`a of Kahului 2 which became mine as follows: Puna, husband of Kaoanaeha, gave me the administration of the labor tax days of the konohiki on this land -- this lot was for the konohiki living on that land, from ancient times until the present; one side of this lot was a house lot and the other side was for cultivation from former time ....

Land received in 1844 - Section 1 from Kealoha, section 2 from Puna. Land sections are old from Kapae's wife's grandparents, no one has objected.

Kalama and Kaili, sworn, they have seen his section in Lapalua ili of Kahului 2 ahupuaa from Kaoanaeha in 1846.
